“SALLY’S SELECT” OPENS NEXT TO DOWNTOWN THRIFT STORE

Jul 12, 2023

Salvation Army-Omaha officials opened a new boutique Tuesday, July 11, next to the 25th Avenue and Dodge thrift store. The boutique is a pilot project envisioned as an extension of the organization’s time-tested thrift store concept.

The boutique is called “Sally’s Select” in honor of the traditional British short-form version of the “Salvation” in “The Salvation Army” (the organization is based in Great Britain and was founded there in 1865).

Sally’s Select features curated, hard-to-find items similar to what one would find in an antique store or a clothing boutique. As is the case with Salvation Army thrift stores, all the items available for purchase at Sally’s Select are donated items—and, as is also the case with Salvation Army thrift stores, all the proceeds from the sale of those items will stay local and go towards helping people in need via social services programs.

Among the initial selection of items available at the boutique: antiques, collectibles (such as trading cards), vintage clothing items, and household goods.

Sally's Select is located at 2525 Dodge—the same address as the nearby thrift store—but it is accessed via the double doors on the north side of the building, about 50 feet west of the main entrance to the thrift store.

Operating hours will be 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
