The Salvation Army 7 Can Help Kids Back-to-School Backpack Drive Kicks Off July 1
There’s still a lot of uncertainty around what the return to school will look like this fall, but one thing is for sure: The Salvation Army and KETV are making sure that kids will be prepared with the tools they need to succeed, no matter what the first day holds.
Since 1998 The Salvation Army 7 Can Help Kids Back-to-School Backpack Drive has provided more than 200,000 metro-area kids with the school supplies they need to start the year off right. Last year alone we distributed more than 3,100 backpacks and school supplies, and this year, as many families are faced with the economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we expect the need to be even greater.
New backpacks and school supplies can be dropped off between July 1 and August 4 at the following sponsor locations (look for a blue barrel with a Back-to-School poster on it):
Methodist Corporate Office – 825 South 169th Street
All Bucky’s Convenience Stores in Omaha and Council Bluffs
Metro Credit Union locations in Omaha
If you don’t plan to be out shopping any time soon, you can also make a monetary donation to the drive.
For more information about the drive, please visit the Back-to-School webpage.
We also thank additional Back-to-School Backpack Drive sponsors: Sweet 98.5, Pay-LESS Office Products, Barnhart Press and Firefighters on the Move.
