Backpack Distribution Weekend Set for August 13 and 14

Aug 11, 2021

The 2021 Salvation Army 7 Can Help Kids Back to School Backpack Program culminates this weekend with a full slate of backpack distribution events.

The weekend starts with two events on Friday, August 13.  That’s when teams at The Salvation Army North Corps (2424 Pratt Street) and Kroc Center (2825 Y Street) will give away backpacks stuffed with school supplies from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. – or until supplies have been exhausted.

Saturday, August 14 will see a total of three distribution events happening around town.  North Corps and Kroc Center will again host distributions from 9 a.m-12 p.m. and 1 p.m.-3 p.m. (or until supplies have been exhausted) on that day—plus, there will be an additional distribution event taking place in west Omaha at Westroads Mall (10000 California Street).  The Westroads event—located in the mall’s north parking lot—is set for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. or until supplies run out.

The Kroc Center and Westroads backpack distribution events will be drive-thru format only, while the North Corps event will be walk-up format only.  Proof of school enrollment for each child will be required at all three locations.
