The Salvation Army of Plymouth Receives New Freezer From The Margaret Dunning Foundation
The Salvation Army Plymouth Corps Community Center recently received a grant from The Margaret Dunning Foundation to purchase a new 390 sq ft. walk-in freezer. This much-needed equipment will replace the nearly 30-year-old 250 sq ft. freezer in its kitchen that feeds Plymouth’s most vulnerable community members.
“The Salvation Army is extremely grateful for The Margaret Dunning Foundation. Our corps community center serves hundreds of families throughout the year, and especially during the holidays,” said Major Kris Wood of The Salvation Army Plymouth Corps Community Center. “The new freezer is much bigger and has much more capacity to hold the turkeys and hams for holiday meals.”
The Margaret Dunning Foundation also assisted the Plymouth Corps Community Center a few years ago in the expansion of its food pantry.
“This donation is critical in keeping the Plymouth Corps Community Center kitchen open so that it can continue feeding local families in need effectively,” said Lt. Colonel John Turner. “Generous donations like these are what allow us to make an impact in our communities and reach our neighbors in need. We are honored to receive this charitable donation from the Margaret Dunning Foundation to help us continue to Do the Most Good in our communities.”
