What is Clothes for Kids?
An opportunity to provide a brand new outfit for homeless students in Rockford School District #205, to begin the new school year.
How You Can Help?
Stop by the display at the Mall and select a student information form that will list specific items and sizes that will help clothe one of the homeless students. Volunteers on duty will help you and answer any questions that you may have. You then go and shop for those items and return them to the display.
What If I Don’t Like To Shop?
Monetary donations can be placed in the red kettle at the site in the mall or mailed to The Salvation Army of Winnebago County, PO. Box 4159, Rockford, IL 61110. Checks should indicate in the memo line “Clothes for Kids.” Donated monies will be used to purchase clothing for students whose information form was not selected.
Are Volunteers Needed?
Volunteers are needed to assist mall shoppers in selecting a student information form at CherryVale Mall center court and accepting donated items. Shoppers are needed to shop for student information forms that are not selected. Packers are needed to sort and pack clothes according to schools, and volunteers are needed for distribution. Two hour shifts are available.
