Emergency Disaster Services Mobilizes in a Simulated Air Crash Disaster

Apr 28, 2019 | by Beverly Peterson

The Winnebago County Emergency Disaster Services (EDS) team, led by volunteer Lynn Sjogren, partnered with the Rock River Chaplains' Association Executive Director, Jesus Calvillo, at the Chicago Rockford International Airport (RFD) for a first responder's training exercise for a simulated plane crash. Crews from both national and local emergency responding administrations took part along with over 150 volunteers. The Federal Aviation Administration requires the airport conduct a full-scale disaster response exercise every three years.
