Koats for Kids 2017
THE 28TH ANNUAL SALVATION ARMY ‘KOATS FOR KIDS’ DRIVE FOR NEEDY CHILDREN
The Salvation Army’s 28th Annual “Koats 4 Kids” collection has started—and will continue through Friday, October 20th. The purpose of the drive is to collect and distribute new and gently used winter coats to needy children living in Winnebago County. More than 35 collection barrels are located throughout the community to receive donations.
“Soon we will be taking out those winter coats that have hung in the closet,” says Major Mark Martsolf, Salvation Army Winnebago County Coordinator. “Your generous donation of a winter coat will go a long way in assuring that one more child will be warm this winter. Thank you for supporting Koats 4 Kids this year!”
The Salvation Army seeks a community-wide effort from both the private and business sectors to keep all our children warm this winter.
Coats must be in good wearable condition—clean, with no buttons or zippers missing and no stains or tears. The coats will be distributed at no charge, directly to anyone who needs them. Photo ID for head of household and proof of address for everyone living in the home is required. There is no pre-registration for this event. Distribution will be held Thursday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Salvation Army Temple, 500 S. Rockford Avenue, Rockford.
