We Give Kids Their Parents Back.

Our free programs provide the tools to treat the symptoms and the root causes of alcohol and drug dependence.

The Center for Disease Control estimates that every year more than 100 people die and more than 6,700 people visit the emergency room for treatment due to drug use.

That's 6,800 families - with moms, dads, and kids - disrupted by the effects of addiction.

"If I hadn't landed here with The Salvation Army, I don't know what would have happened to me."

The Salvation Army's substance abuse treatment programs give clients the gift of time to address their addictions and plan for a life of sobriety.

How we help combat addiction in our community:

Women's Restorative Justice Program
The Salvation Army offers assistance to homeless women and their families in Winnebago County, Illinois, through the Women's Restorative Justice Program (WRJP). The program provides housing and supportive services for women in recovery from substance abuse who have recent criminal history. Women can participate in the program for two years.

Adult Rehabilitation Centers
The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers provide work-based therapy for substance abuse and support groups using the AA model, and spiritual counseling and education for a minimum of six months. Clients live onsite and work in Salvation Army Family Stores and other areas, while participating in a full range of treatment programs.
