and nurture their talents.
After-School Program
The Salvation Army provides after-school programming to give youth and teens a safe place to complete homework, learn new skills and relax with their friends. The program offers tutoring, mentoring, life skills, and exercise.
The Empower After School Program is held Monday–Friday from 2:30 p.m.–6:00 p.m. The program is hosted at The Salvation Army Rockford Tabernacle (210 Kilburn Avenue, Rockford, Illinois).

Empower Summer Day Camp
Our Empower Summer Day Camp is a 10-week camp open to students in kindergarten through 6th grade (ages 5-12). Campers will experience music, STEM learning, arts and crafts, and educational field trips. Team-building exercises are also incorporated each day to encourage camaraderie and build self-esteem.
Registration for the camp opens in April.
Music, Visual and Dramatic Education
The Salvation Army is the largest music educator in the world, with offerings in brass, vocal, guitar, drums and more. It is important to provide additional creative outlets for youth, teens and adults to share their experiences, hopes, dreams and fears. Camp
Wonderland Camp provides week-long summer camp options for youth, teens and seniors with a different theme each week. We also host day camps during school breaks and the summer, which include meals, activities, field trips and more. For more information, call 815-227-0635.
