Who we Are
At its heart, The Salvation Army is a church. This foundation is what motivates us to do the work that we do. We love God and serve others because of His love for all. That’s where our mission comes from – to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet needs in His name without discrimination. Because, we want others to come to know God’s love too. These are our marching orders.
Our Local Leadership
Envoys Artee and Esther Lewis currently serve as the corps officers at the Detroit Temple Corps.
Envoy Esther has a passion to help people of all ages no matter where they are or where the need may occur. She has it engrained in her spirit to reach out and let as many people know of God’s love through her actions and relationships within the community. As the occasion arises she enjoys teaching and preaching the gospel whether from the pulpit or on the neighborhood corner.
Envoy Artee is passionate about teaching and preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. As well as to see all people saved and come into the knowledge that by serving Christ, their lives can become disciplined and enriched through the word of God. He also has a passion to see those in need take advantage of the benefits of the Pathway of Hope program.

We have a full-sized gym with basketball nets, a fellowship hall, and a fully equipped industrial kitchen that are available to rent most of the year. Please call 313-897-2914 to rent one of our spaces.
