Bob Baesler Steps Up to Double Donations to Salvation Army Red Kettles
TERRE HAUTE, IN (November 21, 2022) – With Thanksgiving quickly approaching, The Salvation Army has a wonderful opportunity to boost its holiday fundraising efforts thanks to the support of Bob Baesler, the owner of Baesler’s Market.
Thanks to Baesler’s support, on Wednesday, November 23, every dollar given to The Salvation Army in Vigo County will be matched dollar for dollar up to $2,500 dollars.
Captain Jeremy Fingar, leader of The Salvation Army in Terre Haute, shared his excitement about the kettle match. “Talk about the spirit of Thanksgiving,” Captain Fingar said. “I am just amazed by the generosity, and I really hope the community takes up the challenge.”
The funds raised through The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas campaign help to support programs and services in Vigo County throughout the year and account for 80% of the organization’s annual budget. Those services include a food pantry, Christmas assistance, nursing home visitations, youth programs, summer camps, long-term family case management, and rent and utility assistance.
“Bob Baesler’s kettle match this year will go a long way in helping us meet needs in Vigo County,” added Captain Fingar. “We are blessed by his continued partnership with The Salvation Army. There is still a long way to go to reach the Christmas goal for this year, but this match will help tremendously.”
The Salvation Army of Vigo County is also seeking volunteer bell ringers to help man kettles through Christmas Eve. The 2022 Red Kettle Campaign will conclude on Christmas Eve at 4:00 p.m., which leaves less than a month for The Salvation Army to meet its goal of $225,000 raised in the iconic Red Kettles.
