Red Kettle Christmas Campaign Kicks Off
Today marks the start of an annual holiday tradition that brings cheer to Christmas shoppers across Vigo County: the ringing of bells at Salvation Army Red Kettles. Volunteer bell ringers will be out bringing attention to the annual Red Kettle Campaign, which provides help and hope to vulnerable members of our community.
"The $226,000 fundraising goal for this Christmas season reflects the increase in local needs," said Captain Jeremy Fingar, corps officer for The Salvation Army of Vigo County. "The donations to the campaign fund critical social services throughout the year in Vigo County and also provides Christmas to children and families who need help through the holidays."
The campaign kickoff is once again hosted at Baesler’s Market in Terre Haute. It will start at 9:00 AM with members of The Salvation Army's Advisory Board ringing the first bells of the season to officially start the campaign that helps so many across Vigo County.
Red Kettles can be found at locations across the county, including Baesler’s Market, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, Hobby Lobby, Big Lots, Top Guns, and Kirby Foods of West Terre Haute.
Volunteer bell ringers are still needed to ensure that Red Kettles can be out through Christmas Eve. Individuals, groups, and families are invited to sign up on registertoring.com for the location, date, and time of their choosing.
