$500,000 Christmas Match is on now through Dec. 31
Thousands of local families will be in the dark this Christmas season, struggling to put food on the table and pay for rent.
You can Be the Light by giving to The Salvation Army during our special $500,000 Christmas Match now through Dec. 31. A donation of $105 is enough to feed three families for a week, or help save a family from eviction. Any gift you give will provide twice the blessing for local families in need of food, shelter and care.
This opportunity is made possible by a pool of donors who have given $500,000 to encourage others to donate this Christmas season. Will you match their generosity with a gift of your own?
Here are four easy ways to donate:
- Give online.
- Donate at a red kettle.
- Call our Development Team at 651-746-3491 during business hours to make a credit card donation.
- Mail a check to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 131240, Roseville, MN 55113-0011. (Be sure to write "Christmas Match" in the memo.)
Stories of Impact
The success stories below illustrate how your donation will Be the Light to people in need during the Christmas season and throughout 2025.
Hannah
After her divorce, Hannah had no money, no job, and $20,000 in debt while trying to raise her three young children. Thanks to your gifts, The Salvation Army helped Hannah create an amazing life through our Pathway of Hope mentorship program. Today, Hannah works full-time and has paid off all her debt. She also started a local Community Closet that provides free clothing for those in need. “I wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without all the resources The Salvation Army provided me,” Hannah said.
Mia
Mia spent months living on the streets, couch-hopping from one friend’s house to the next, sometimes sleeping on trains. “It was traumatizing, and I was always in survival mode,” Mia recalled. Thanks to your gifts, she was able to move into our youth housing facility and stabilize. Since then, she has obtained her GED and works full-time managing a gas station, with plans to attend college. “I wouldn’t be here without The Salvation Army,” she said. “The staff is so supportive. They make me believe in my goals.”
This Christmas season, you can Be the Light in somebody’s life by providing food, shelter and care for people in need. Join us today by giving a donation, signing up to volunteer, or ringing bells at a Red Kettle.
