Legacy Toys matching toy donations until Dec. 15
One of Minnesota’s most beloved independent toy stores, Legacy Toys, has joined the Twin Cities Salvation Army to ensure that children in need receive a toy this Christmas season.
Now through Sunday, Dec. 15, Legacy Toys will match all toys purchased and donated at its stores inside Mall of America, the Galleria in Edina, and Ridgedale Center in Minnetonka.
Here’s how it works:
- Shop at Legacy Toys for a toy to give
- At checkout, a gift receipt will be taped to your donated toy
- Drop the toy into the donation box located in front of the store
Legacy Toys has reserved up to $25,000 in matching funds for this generous giving opportunity. All donated toys will be given to families in need next week at Salvation Army Toy Shop distributions in the Twin Cities.
The Twin Cities Salvation Army is hopeful that this effort will help to offset a shortage of donated toys this Christmas season.
“Every child in the Twin Cities deserves to receive a new toy this Christmas,” said Lt. Col. Lonneal Richardson, leader of The Salvation Army Northern Division. “We thank Legacy Toys and its customers for helping The Salvation Army to fight for good this Christmas season.”
Thousands of hardworking families are battling poverty in Minnesota and North Dakota. You can help them win by making a donation or becoming a bell ringer. Join The Salvation Army this Christmas season and #FightForGood.
