Melvin's Story
Before coming to Turning Point, my life was unmanageable. I was living like an animal, laying my head anywhere I could. I had a one-track mindand that was for getting and using. Finding ways and means to get and use more drugs. I didn't care about nobody, didn't care about myself. Drugs was the only thing I thought about until I came to Turning Point.
I've been in and out of treatment over 20 times. I think it is 20 .. I lost count. Until this time at Turning Point, I surrendered and started to listen to the staff and counselors because I was tired of living like an animal. Something had to give.
Turning Point was the best thing (besides having a son) that ever happened for me -- not just Turning Point, but The Salvation Army, period, because the people that work there really care. They want to see people succeed and that is what I love about Turning Point. Since I left in 2014, I've been clean for 2 years and 11 months. Thanks to God and the staff at Turning Point.
Love you guys & blessings,
Melvin W.
