Our Facilities

“Camping ministry is a big part of The Salvation Army. To have a place where people can come and feel comfortable in this kind of beautiful setting is very important to us. This type of setting makes many feel God’s presence in an even stronger way than other settings.”
Maj. Lee Ann Thompson

Sitting on 112 wooded acres in South Sioux City, Iowa, The Salvation Army Western Plains Camp offers an idyllic setting where kids and adults of all ages can enjoy the freedom of the great outdoors.

On September 1, The Salvation Army Western Division broke ground for phase one of planned improvements to the camp, including a new 16-unit guest lodge, a boathouse and nurse’s station and upgrades to the nine sleeping cabins.
