About Us
The Western Plains Camp is a nonprofit Christian camp owned and operated by The Salvation Army and located just west of South Sioux City on more than 100 acres.
Our mission is to utilize nature in order to provide an outstanding experience for all while demonstrating Christ-centered love. The Western Plains Camp teaches the truths and principles of the Bible, communicating them to the hearts and minds of all by means of camps, conferences and retreats.
Salvation Army Western Division officials announced in January the purchase of this camp, formerly Camp Goodwill in South Sioux City. It will succeed Camp Gene Eppley, which was destroyed in the Flood of 2019. Check out this video from the press conference to hear the announcement.
