Experience the Great Outdoors
Nestled into the woods near South Sioux City, The Salvation Army Western Plains Camp is a dream come true for kids ages 6-18, many of whom don’t often get the opportunity to experience the beauty and adventure of the great outdoors. From fishing, canoeing, swimming and hiking to arts and crafts, campfires and cozy, rustic cabins, the Western Plains Camp offers the quintessential overnight camp experience.
New for 2024: A high ropes and low ropes challenge course and zip line. In order to participate in this new fun activity, campers MUST have a completed waiver.

Junior Sports Camp
June 10-13 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: MAY 27
Eligibility: Boys and girls who are entering 1st-5th grades in fall 2025
Join us for a fun-filled week of sports, games, and adventure! Jr. Sports camp will explore a variety of sports, help develop a new skill and build confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Senior Boys Camp
June 16-21 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 2
Eligibility: Boys who are entering 6th-12th grades in fall 2025; under age 18
Boys will learn to work together as a team and learn important life skills that will encourage them to become a productive member of society.
Senior Girls Camp (Black Hills Camp, Rapid City, SD)
June 16-21 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 2
Eligibility: Girls who are entering 6th-12th grades in fall 2025; under age 18
Girls will encounter the basics of outdoor living, which includes tent camping, nature study, hiking and fun fieldtrips.
The Salvation Army Outdoors Camp (TSAO) Girls & Boys Camp
June 23-26 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 9
Eligibility: Boys and girls ages 10-16
The Salvation Army Outdoors Camp introduces children to the great outdoors by engaging them in a wide range of activities, such as swimming, fishing, boating, climbing, archery, conservation, hiking and camping. Campers attending this camp will be tent camping. Campers are encouraged to bring a tent if they have one.
Music Camp (WMC)
June 30-July 5 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 17
Eligibility: Boys and girls ages 9-17.
Vocal and Instrumental are the main classes. To play an instrument you must already have some experience and bring a brass instrument. Electives are also taught in a variety of activities including guitar, dance, art, etc.
Senior Sports Camp
July 7-10 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 23
Eligibility: Boys and girls entering 6th-12th grades in fall 2025; under age 18
Join us for a fun-filled week of sports, games, and adventure! Sr. Sports camp will explore a variety of sports, help develop a new skill and build confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Music Conservatory
July 14-18 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JUNE 30
Eligibility: 13+ and Officer Recommended
Unleash your musical potential. Caters to students with a developing musical talent.
Junior Camp
July 21-24 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: JULY 7
Eligibility: Boys and girls entering 1st-5th grades in fall 2025
Campers will learn how important they are in God’s Kingdom through classes and Bible Study. They will also learn and expand their creativity and sense of adventure through educational and recreational classes.
