Our free programs provide the tools to treat the symptoms - and the root causes - of alcohol and drug dependence.

The Salvation Army has more no-fee residential treatment facilities than any rehab program in America

For over 100 years, The Salvation Army has offered spiritual, emotional, and social assistance to those who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Our free programs provide housing, food, counseling, community, and employment as we work to treat the symptoms, and ultimately the root causes, of prolonged alcohol and drug dependence.

In the Indiana Division, the Fort Wayne Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC) provides residential housing, work, and group and individual therapy, in a clean, wholesome environment.

In Indianapolis, we also have our Harbor Light rehabilitation facility that is open to anyone within the state of Indiana. The Harbor Light facility provides a full continuum of drug, alcohol and gambling addiction treatment for adults, including housing, counseling, and spiritual development. Harbor Light Center is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and state certified with the Indiana Division of Mental Health and Addiction.

The Salvation Army helps equip people to:

Combat Addiction

Through holistic work-therapy, group and individual counseling sessions, spiritual direction, and life skills development, residents learn to abandon substance reliance.

Build work and social skills

The physical and spiritual components of the ARC program equip members to provide for themselves and others as they set and maintain sustainable employment goals.

Regain health and stability

By developing a personal relationship with God as provided by Jesus Christ, many residents learn to depend on God, rather than drugs or alcohol, for hope and relief.

Restore families

Many who have been rehabilitated are reunited with their families and are able to resume healthy daily routines. Kids get their parents back. People get their lives back.
