"Hungry" is no way to spend childhood

Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

Here in Michigan, one out of six children face food insecurity.

The Salvation Army works to ensure that every member of our community has the food they need to thrive. If you face hunger, we want you to know that you are not alone.

How we help cure hunger

Lunch at the Sal

A free community lunch. Lunch is served from 12:00-12:30    Monday - Friday

Lunch at the Sal is more than just a free meal.  Lunch at the Sal provides diners with an opportunity for fellowship and networking with others in the community. 

 

Food Pantry Assistance

Pantry food assistance is intended to provide food for families  to take home and prepare in their own kitchen. No appointment is necessary. 

Emergency pantry assistance is available: 
                                       Tuesday & Thursday   10:30-11:30 & 12:30 - 3:15. 
 

We help those who live in Chippewa, Mackinac or Luce Counties

Please bring with you:
                                      Identification of applicant:, for example: driver's license, passport, green card, government issued ID, etc.

Bread Rack

Bread rack is a portable shelf that has a variety of perishable food items from local grocery stores.

All you need to do is come in by 10 AM. 

Distribution starts at 10 AM.  

We thank our local grocery stores and restaurants for donating:

 Soo Super Value, GFS, Pizza Hut , WalMart and Little Caesars (and sometimes the schools)
