"Hungry" is no way to spend childhood

Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

Here in Michigan, one out of six children face food insecurity.

The Salvation Army works to ensure that every member of our community has the food they need to thrive. If you face hunger, we want you to know that you are not alone.

How we help cure hunger

 

Lunch at the Sal

A free community lunch. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, from 12:00-12:30 PM.

Lunch at the Sal is more than just a free meal, it also provides guests with an opportunity for fellowship and networking with others in the community. At the present time, meals are served dine-in only.


Food Pantry Assistance

Pantry food assistance is intended to provide food for families to take home and prepare in their own kitchen. Currently, appointments are necessary to sign up for Food Pantry Assistance. Call 906-632-6521 to make your appointment.

Food Pantry Hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9:30 AM to 12 PM and 12:30 PM to 3 PM

Please bring with you: Identification of applicant (for example: driver's license, passport, green card, government issued ID, etc.)

Food Pantry Assistance is available for those living in Chippewa, Mackinac and Luce Counties.


Bread Rack

Bread rack is a portable shelf that has a variety of perishable food items from local grocery stores. All guests are welcomed into the building through the door at the back of the Corps. Currently masks are required to enter the building.

All you need to do is come to The Salvation Army. Distribution begins at 10:00 am and ends at 10:30 am.

  • Little Caesars
  • The local schools
