More than 12 percent of kids in Aberdeen live below the federal poverty level, which means they often don't have access to the same educational and social opportunities of their more privileged peers.
That's why we offer character building and other after-school programs that provide kids with positive adult role models, enriching educational experiences and spiritual development that will help them thrive into adults.
According to national research, students from low-income families are seven times more likely to drop out of school than those from families with higher incomes. Our goal is to close the gap for low-income students by offering an enriching environment to help a build a strong foundation for the future.
Character Building | Tuesdays 3:30-4:30 p.m. (kindergarten through 5th grade) and 5:30-6:30 p.m. (6-12th grade)
Our character building programs offer opportunities for kids to develop communications, decision-making and life skills; build character; and grow spiritually, mentally, physically and socially, all while exploring God’s word and His world. Christian based scouting type programs encourage children and teens to learn life skills, make friends, earn emblems and explore camping opportunities.
After-school Program | Every weekday from 3-6 p.m.
Our after-school program is a win-win for both parents and kids. While parents enjoy peace of mind at work knowing their children are in a safe environment after school lets out, kids in kindergarten through fifth grade receive tutoring and extra help with homework and enjoy a snack, time in the computer lab and games with their peers.
Summer Overnight Camps
Kids and teens in first through 12th grade are offered the opportunity to enroll in overnight camps each summer where kids experience nature, connect with others and develop leadership skills. Camps offered include themed weeks like Music Camp, Teen Camp and Outdoor Camp.
Bible Study | Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 p.m. (kindergarten through 5th grade) and 6-7 p.m. (6-12th grade)
Sunday School on Wednesday! Elementary age children learn basic Bible stories and truths while middle and high school age youth learn to study the Bible and how to apply it to their everyday lives.
