Hunger Is a Product of Poverty

More than 18 percent of Fort Dodge residents live below the federal poverty line, which means they are likely struggling with hunger and food insecurity.

Hunger and food insecurity may not always be visible, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. We work to ensure that the most vulnerable members of our community do not go hungry.

How We Help Cure Hunger

Compassion Kitchen Community Lunch Program  |  Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
We serve a nutritious, satisfying lunch five days a week to anyone in need who walks through our doors. We feed between 300 and 400 people every week, offering not only physical sustenance but also a warm, inviting environment where people can find companionship and community.

Feeding America Fresh Food and Bread Distribution  |  Monday through Friday at 9:00 a.m.
Those struggling to make ends meet are welcome to pick up pantry staples, bread and produce.

Food Pantry  |  Monday through Friday from 1-3 p.m.
Eligible individuals and families are able to visit our food pantry once every 60 days.

Thanksgiving Meal
Holidays can often be lonely and socially isolating for those struggling in poverty or living without loved ones. That's why we invite anyone in need to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner with us each year.
