We might think of hunger as a global problem, but the truth is, more than 11 percent of residents right here in Hastings are food insecure, which means they often don’t know where they will get their next meal.
While hunger may hide in plain sight, we help fill the empty stomachs of individuals and families in our community.
Food Pantry | Monday through Thursday from 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-4:30 p.m.
Individuals and families struggling with food insecurity often can't afford to purchase quite enough food to sustain them for the week or the month. We help make ends meet by providing canned and packaged good and other staples.
Summer Mobile Feeding Program | July and August
Summer is a challenging time for those struggling with food insecurity, particularly for families who face increased child care costs as well as the fact that their children are not receiving free or reduced lunches at school. That's why we station our mobile food truck every evening in July and August at two locations in Hastings to make sure individuals and families are getting the nutrition they need to survive and thrive.
This summer we served more than 4,500 healthy dinners in 24 days.
