We fight poverty with love Image

We fight poverty with love

By providing programs that serve the body, mind and soul, The Salvation Army helps alleviate the symptoms of poverty - and works to address the root issues that cause it.

How we help overcome poverty

Pathway of Hope
The Salvation Army's Pathway of Hope initiative provides individualized services to families with children who desire to take action to break the cycle of crisis and vulnerability that repeats generation after generation. It seeks to address the root causes of poverty in addition to The Army's history of compassionate serving. By helping families overcome challenges like unemployment, unstable housing, and lack of education, we can lead families down a path toward increased stability and, ultimately, self-sufficiency.

Food Pantry
Our food pantry provides non-perishable food and basic hygiene items for our friends in need.

The Hillsdale Salvation Army Fresh Food Distribution is on Tuesdays from 9:30-11:30 am. Community members are welcome to come get fresh produce in drive through style.

The Hillsdale Salvation Army Free Community Lunch program runs Tuesday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Community members are welcome to come get a drive through lunch to go.

Emergency Utility Assistance
Our Social Services Case Workers assist individuals and families who are facing crisis in regards to utility back payments. They also provide resources and support for enrollment in money saving energy payment plans.
