Positive Role Models Make a Difference

Studies show that kids and teens with positive role models in their lives consistently demonstrate better behavior, stronger academic performance and higher self-esteem than those without similar influencers.

Our youth development programs offer the opportunity for children of all ages to engage with positive adult mentors, as well as enjoy activities that build their character and help them become thriving adults.

How We Empower Youth

Tuesday Youth Program  |  Tuesdays at 4 p.m. with dinner included
Our Moonbeams, Sunbeams, Explorers, Girl Guards and Rangers character-building programs offer boys and girls in preschool through 12th grade the opportunity to develop strong communication and leadership skills, grow their minds, and explore God's Word, all while having fun and connecting with their peers.

Kids Fun Night  |  Mondays 6-8 p.m.
Elementary kids have the chance to burn off energy, connect with their peers and have fun in a safe environment, as well as engage in devotional time and the opportunity to share what’s on their minds.

Monthly Family Night  |  Typically the last Friday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
Families have the opportunity to connect and have fun together by enjoying a free movie or game night.

Tiger's Den Summer Youth Program  |  June-August, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
We provide a safe place where kids ages 6-12 can learn and have fun during the summer while their parents are at work. Tiger’s Den participants enjoy a nutritious lunch, snacks, story time at the library, arts and crafts, games and excursions to local parks and the city pool.

Junior Soldiers  |  Sundays at 10 a.m.
The aim of the Junior Soldier program for youth ages 7 to 14 is to ensure that children involved in The Salvation Army have personally received Jesus Christ as their Savior and are discipled in biblical truths, life applications and Salvation Army principles and practices. Junior Soldiers are the youngest members of The Salvation Army.

Corps Cadets  |  One Sunday per month at 1 p.m.
Pre-teen and teens who are enrolled as Junior or Senior Soldiers are invited to participate in this training program and discipleship course focusing on spiritual growth, leadership development, growing their knowledge of Salvation Army history and evangelism training.
