Broken families can be healed

Our ministry is motivated by love of God. Our mission is to Embrace, Empower and Equip the young people, to succeed in relationships and life.  We seek to do this by providing a safe environment for life-changing spiritual, educational and wellness experiences for children from at risk area neighborhoods.

Kids get a fresh perspective on life

"When you open up the world to a child, it can change everything!”

How we help empower youth

Many children from low-income families rarely experience life outside their immediate neighborhood. That’s why The Salvation Army’s annual day camp and after school programs for kids are so important.

Every year, thousands of kids of all ages get a fresh perspective on life as they meet new friends, discover new activities, and get a taste of the great outdoors. As they learn to swim, play sports, create music, make art, trained staff help them navigate the complicated emotions and struggles often associated with their lives back home.

Summer Day Camp

The Salvation Army Kroc Center’s Camp Kroc is a Christian day camp licensed through the State of Michigan.

Camp gives children the opportunity to engage in fun-filled activities in a safe and positive environment, and promotes the development of the whole child through structured group activities to improve socialization and boost self-confidence. In 2022 we had 750 registrations for Camp Kroc.
