Kettle donations help the families most in need throughout the year, providing assistance for rent, utilities, food and other necessities. All kettle donations support our work right here in the Lansing Capital Area (Clinton, Eaton, and Ingham Counties).
We rely on civic, business, university, and church groups along with many individuals who volunteer to support the mission of The Salvation Army.
We need your help too!
Gather your family, friends, co-workers, church members, scout troop, service club or your bowling team! Everyone can get involved. Adopt a kettle for a day, a week or for the entire kettle season. Volunteer to ring bells at a location and time that fits your schedule.

With over 20 kettle locations you can pick a location that is convenient for you and your group.
We need kettle volunteers every day, 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, November 17 through December 23 (excluding Thanksgiving and Sundays). You can volunteer for shifts of 2 hours or more!
What Your Donation Can Do
- Provide groceries to a family in need.
- Offer personal needs like shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, or toothpaste.
- Provide hot meals to homeless and working poor families and individuals.
- Support character building programs for children between ages 6 and 13.
- Keep heat on in a family home during cold winter months.
- Save a family from being evicted from their home.
- Offer a "Pathway of Hope" to change a family's overall circumstances from hopelessness to hope.
