We are excited to share the latest developments regarding The Salvation Army of Livingston County's Capital Campaign—A Pathway to Dignity—made possible by your generous contributions. Your support has been instrumental in enabling us to serve our community more effectively.
As you may know, we faced rising construction costs that compelled us to sell our former Grand River Ave property. However, we are thrilled to announce that we have successfully acquired the former Humane Society building located on Dorr Rd in Genoa Township. This new facility presents us with a wonderful opportunity to enhance our services and outreach within Livingston County.
While the zoning approval process and some unforeseen delays have slowed our progress, we remain committed to moving forward vigorously in 2025. We will begin remodeling the Dorr Rd facility this spring, with the hopeful goal of being fully operational in our new space by the end of the year.
Recently, our Advisory Board held a meeting at the Dorr Rd building, providing them with a firsthand look at this exciting new chapter for our organization. We are all eager to embrace the impactful work this space will enable us to accomplish.
Upcoming Events
We would also like to invite you to our upcoming Red Tie Gala on May 2, 2025, at Oak Pointe Country Club in Brighton. After careful consideration, we chose to move the Gala from the fall to spring to provide a better experience for our guests amid fewer competing events. Additionally, we are thrilled to announce our inaugural Red Tee Golf Outing, scheduled for Monday, May 5, 2025, at Oak Pointe Country Club.
These events represent not only a chance to come together in support of our mission but also an opportunity for you to make a difference in the lives of countless families in Livingston County. We invite both our current donors and potential new supporters to get involved. Your contributions have a significant impact on the lives of those in need, and together, we can create a brighter future for our community.
Thank you for your ongoing support of The Salvation Army.
Joyfully Serving,
David Yancho
Advisory Board & Campaign Chairman
