Brighten the holidays for a struggling neighbor through our Online Red Kettle

Donate Now

Millions of American parents cannot afford to buy their kids Christmas presents.

The holidays bring added financial and emotional stress to families living in poverty.

"It was such a blessing to be able to give my children Christmas gifts. I couldn't have done it without Salvation Army."

Holiday times are tough when you can't afford a meal or gifts. The Salvation Army helps families make the holidays bright no matter what.

The Salvation Army brightens the holiday season for those in need through:

Red Kettles
These iconic red kettles signal the start of the holiday season. Donations collected in these buckets support the services in your neighborhood. Bell ringers are both seasonal employees and volunteers. Learn more about Bell Ringing or Register to Ring now. From October 1 - mid-December, join the Fight for Good by donating through our Online Red Kettles. Give now to Quincy. Give now to Hannibal

Angel Tree & Christmas Distribution in Illinois
When you're struggling financially to care for your family, holiday gifts are often not feasible. The Salvation Army Angel Tree program allows donors to purchase gifts  for families in need, making their holidays brighter.  Click here for more information regarding these programs.

Christmas Food Box Distribution in Missouri
Each year The Salvation Army of Hannibal, Toys for Tots of Northeast Missouri, and Douglass Community Services partner together to provide toys and Christmas Food Boxes to families in Lewis, Marion, Ralls, Pike, Shelby and Monroe counties.

Click here to download a 2024 food box application. Completed applications can be returned in-person to The Salvation Army Family Services at Steamboat Bend Shopping Center - Suite 200A in Hannibal, MO (Monday-Friday | 10am-Noon & 1-4pm). Applications can also be sent to Amanda.Bowen@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Holiday Meals
The Salvation Army provides Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for families unable to create a special meal themselves. We host homemade dinners at our facility and provide a Christmas dinner box to struggling families. Each box feeds a family of four/six and includes meat, potatoes, veggies/fruit, dessert, and more. (Box content may change from year to year).
