SINGERS UNMASKED AT SALVATION ARMY FUNDRAISER CONTINUE TO RAISE MONEY FOR LOCAL SHELTER
The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command unmasked Megan Peters as the Fan Favorite at the organization's fundraiser, Unmasking the Singer. This unique head-to-head singing competition where Quincy and Hannibal area celebrities/community members donned mascot costumes - and sang for votes was held Friday, April 29. This year's in-person event was a fun-filled night of raising money for The Salvation Army to continue to provide shelter to the homeless in Quincy and Hannibal.
"It was such a special night to have fun and be entertained, all while unmasking a serious issue in Quincy and Hannibal, and that is the homeless problem," stated Donor Relations Coordinator Chad Douglas. "The Salvation Army is on the front lines of helping people get a hand up and back on their feet. Our community has always been so generous to The Salvation Army, and after hosting a virtual event last year, it felt so good to be live and in-person this year."
While the event may be over, the fundraising has just begun! The eight contestants (Katelyn Woodward, Alex & Julie Ginos, Mark Kempker, Anthony Oliver, Megan Peters, Patrick Hedges, and Allison Hutson) will continue to raise funds for The Salvation Army through May 8.
