THE SALVATION ARMY TO HOLD MINI-BUCKET BLITZ DAYS
The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command will bring its popular bucket blitz to local communities throughout the counties the organization serves. The Salvation Army provides a variety of programs and services to assist families in need in the counties of Adams, Brown, and Pike in Illinois and the counties of Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Monroe, and Shelby in Missouri.
The location and date for each mini-Bucket Blitz are as follows:
• Tuesday, Dec. 1- Monroe City, MO Located at the intersection of North Main and Business Highway 24/36 E from 10 am to 3:30pm
• Wednesday, Dec. 2- Shelbina, MO Located at the intersection of Highway 15 and Business 36 from 10am to 3:30pm
• Thursday, Dec. 3- Pittsfield, IL Located at the intersection of Memorial and Jefferson from 10am to 3:30pm
• Saturday, Dec. 5- Palmyra, MO Located at the intersection of Main and Ross from 8am to 2pm
All proceeds from The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign provide a variety of programs and services to assist families in need. Following are a few examples of ways The Salvation Army has given a hand up to our neighbors in need.
The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command provided the following assistance to its entire service area during 2019:
4,083 nights of lodging at the Emergency Shelter
16,312 meals were provided to shelter residents
10,683 people were served by the daily bread line
3,129 food boxes were distributed
Last Christmas:
1,604 families received Christmas food baskets
2,177 children received toys for Christmas
960 individuals were provided dinner on Thanksgiving and Christmas
Volunteers are an important part of the Christmas season and are needed to assist with Bucket Blitz. Volunteers
