THE SALVATION ARMY TO HOLD MINI-BUCKET BLITZ DAYS IN ILLINOIS COUNTIES

Nov 9, 2021

The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command will bring its popular Bucket Blitz to small towns in the organization’s Illinois service area. Bell ringers will be in Pittsfield on December 2 located at the four-way stop at Memorial and Jefferson from 10am until 3:30pm. Bell ringers will then be in Mt. Sterling on December 3 located at the four-way stop at Main (Hwy 24) and Capital from 10am until 3:30pm.

All proceeds from The Salvation Army Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign with a goal of $435,00 provide a variety of programs and services to assist families in need in the counties of Adams, Brown, and Pike in Illinois.

The following are a few examples of ways The Salvation Army has given a hand up to our neighbors in need:

6,674 individuals were served by the daily bread line.

185 motel vouchers were given for emergency housing.

40 individuals received rapid rehousing (moved directly from homelessness to permanent housing).

30 families graduated from the Pathway of Hope Program.

3,628 meals and 1,534 hygiene kits were distributed through the neighborhood Canteen Ministry.
