THE SALVATION ARMY TO SERVE FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER

Oct 28, 2021

The Salvation Army of Quincy will serve a free Community Thanksgiving Dinner on Thursday, November 25 from 11am-12:30pm. Due to safety precautions being taken because of COVID-19, the meal will be served via carry-out only. Delivery will be available to shut-ins. The meal will consist of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner complete with turkey and all the trimmings.

The Salvation Army will begin taking orders and carry-out reservations on November 1 and ending November 19. When calling to place an order, recipients will need to provide the following information: name, number of meals, and a time to pick-up the meals. Shut-ins will need to provide the following information: name, number of meals, and address.

“My husband and I look forward to spending our first Thanksgiving with the Quincy Community,” stated Major Shelley McClintock. “We look forward to serving the community, meeting new faces, and giving thanks for the blessings that the Lord has given us.”

Volunteers will not be needed, and dessert donations will not be accepted due to the precautions being taken to ensure the health and well-being of the community that is being served. Anyone wishing to make a monetary donation towards the meal may do so by mailing a check to The Salvation Army at PO Box 75, Quincy, IL 62306-0075.
