Back To School
1,016 backpacks filled with school supplies were distributed to area students in 2021.
ABOUT
Heading back to school can be stressful for students and their parents when they don't have the school supplies necessary for academic success. Starting the school year with a new backpack filled with school supplies can help students feel confident and ready to meet the educational challenges during the school year and achieve success.
The Salvation Army's Back to School backpack distribution program provides backpacks filled with school supplies to children at select Milwaukee Public Schools.
Class Act Telethon
On Tuesday, August 24 in partnership with WISN 12, the annual Class Act Telethon will help hundreds of children in Milwaukee and Waukesha receive new backpacks full of brand new supplies.
Supply List
Each backpack filled with supplies is estimated to be $15. We are currently accepting monetary donations or in-kind donations following items:
Pencil bag or box
Washable white glue, 8 oz bottle
Glue sticks
Crayons, 24 count
Colored pencils, 24 count
No. 2 pencils
Large rectangular eraser, pink
Spiral notebooks, 70 pages
Pocket folders
Notebook paper
12" ruler
Protractor
Blue, black and red ink pens
Highlighters, different colors
Washable markers, 8 count
Low odor dry erase markers
Flash drive/memory stick
Graph paper
