There are thousands of children who rely on free or reduced lunch during the school year, and when school ends many would go hungry without help.
Feed The Kids is a 10-week summer meals program for children living in Milwaukee’s poorest neighborhoods. About 1,300 meals are distributed Monday-Friday, June-August, to 21 different neighborhoods, parks and street corners on Milwaukee’s north and south side.
The meal consists of a sandwich, fruit, snack and milk.
The Salvation Army has provided more than 2 million meals through the Feed The Kids program since 1990.
The cost per lunch is $2.10 ($2.50 with snack). We accept monetary donations or in-kind donations following items:
Teams of volunteers prepare the meals and ministry teams stop at the distribution sites to provide the lunches. Click here to learn about volunteer opportunities.
