What is your story? How did you end up in Milwaukee?

I grew up in a small town in Northern Wisconsin where everybody knows everybody. I ended up in Milwaukee to attend UWM for college and fell in love with the city then. My career took me to North Carolina and New York City for the first four years after graduation, but I knew Milwaukee was my long-term home. I was fortunate enough to get my current role at Heartland Advisors and moved back to Milwaukee in March 2020.

What keeps you in Milwaukee/What do you like best about Milwaukee?

It is the perfect combination of big city amenities with small-town feel and cost of living. You can get almost anywhere in the city in 15 minutes and the people are great, Midwestern nice, and hard-working. We have such a wide variety of fun things to do and experience. Yet Milwaukee is small enough that you still run into people you know randomly.

Favorite spot in the city?

One of Milwaukee's many outdoor patios, rooftops, or beer gardens on a nice, sunny summer day.

What drew you to Echelon?

After meeting a few of the members, I was excited by the opportunity to work with like-minded young professionals to give back to those less fortunate and help make Milwaukee better.

What struggles do you see our city dealing with? What can our generation do to help?

It is well known that Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the country and crime is a constant issue. Getting more people involved in giving back to the community and making it a better place can slowly help tackle both issues over time.
