WHAT IS YOUR STORY? HOW DID YOU END UP IN MILWAUKEE?

I grew up in Wauwatosa, so I have been in and around Milwaukee my whole life. I went to college in St. Louis with no set plans to move back after graduation, but my first job brought me back home and I have happily been here ever since.

WHAT KEEPS YOU IN MILWAUKEE/WHAT DO YOU LIKE BEST ABOUT MILWAUKEE?

The way the city has changed and developed in the last decade really excites me. There are so many people that are excited about living here and shedding some of the preconceived notions that get lobbed on us from the outside. Now that I have been back for almost a decade, I can’t imagine leaving.

FAVORITE SPOT IN THE CITY?

Walking on the lakefront.

MILWAUKEE FESTIVAL YOU ARE EAGER TO ATTEND EACH YEAR?

Summerfest, hands down.

WHAT DREW YOU TO ECHELON?

The chance to work with such a great group of people looking to make a difference. There are so many ways to connect with people in this city, I love the fact that Echelon puts helping the community first.

SHARE WITH US A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE HAD THUS FAR WITH THE ORGANIZATION.

I attended Dinner in the Alley and loved the entire vibe of the event. It was so well run and raised a ton of money (great job guys). Hard not to have a great time.

WHAT STRUGGLES DO YOU SEE OUR CITY DEALING WITH? WHAT CAN OUR GENERATION DO TO HELP?

Narrowing the gaps in health, education, and housing equity between communities need to be major priorities for Milwaukee. Acknowledging past struggles and admitting when things have not worked are a good place to start. Hopefully, our generation can think big about the solutions that we need and find the collective energy to work toward making a difference.
