National Volunteer Month Spotlight: Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin

When you hear Molina Healthcare, you think of their quality of care. That same quality of care goes directly back into their community. Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin has been an active partner with The Salvation Army for the past seven years. Molina's employees have assisted in a variety of programs from answering phones during our phone banks to distributing meals for Feed the Kids. We spoke with Babette Honore, Molina Healthcare's Director of Community Engagement to learn more about their organization and show the impact that they have on ours.

Q. What drew your organization to The Salvation Army to volunteer?
A. At Molina, we partner with organizations who have the like mission of serving the underserved. The Salvation Army’s mission is in alignment with our volunteer philosophy.  

Q. Which of our programs has your organization been volunteering with?
A. We have answered phones for Class Act, conducted employee Winter Coat Drive, distributed and sorted toys for the Toy Shop and distributed meals for Feed the Kids

Q. How long has Molina Healthcare been volunteering with The Salvation Army?
A. Over the past seven years.


Q. How did you/the organization first learn about The Salvation Army?
A. Through the dedicated staff at The Salvation Army, we have learned about additional ways we can volunteer in the community.


Q. What has been the group's favorite experience at The Salvation Army?
A. We enjoy the Toy Shop as it provides the opportunity to bring joy at the holidays to the children and the Class Act Telethon.


Q. What is one thing you believe the world should know about The Salvation Army?
A. The history of the Salvation Army spans many facets including, addition, emergency housing and providing meals to those in need.


Q. What are three words you would use to describe The Salvation Army?
A. Dedicated, Committed and Caring

The Salvation Army is so thankful for all of the time Molina Healthcare of Wisconsin donates to us, especially during some of the busiest times of the year. April is National Volunteer Month, and we wanted to share how special Molina Healthcare and all of our volunteers are to us.
