The Salvation Army, Milwaukee Brewers Team Up to Kickoff Feed The Kids Summer Meals Program
In 2021, The Salvation Army served 44,540 meals through the program
WHO: The Salvation Army and the Milwaukee Brewers are teaming up to host the annual Feed The Kids Kickoff.
WHAT: At the kickoff, volunteers (including Brewers coach Chris Hook and player Andrew McCutchen) will prepare 750 sack lunches for children living in Milwaukee’s underserved neighborhoods.
After the kickoff (June 20-August 26), volunteers will prepare about 900 to 1,000 lunches per day. The lunches, which contain a sandwich, chips, cheese sticks, applesauce and water/juice, will then be distributed to children in 21 different neighborhoods (3 routes) on Milwaukee's north and south sides. New this year: The Salvation Army is teaming up with the Marcus Performing Arts Center to provide both entertainment and educational workshops for the families along the routes between June 28 and August 9. WHEN: Noon on Monday, June 20. Masks will be optional.

WHY: The Feed The Kids program has provided more than 2 million meals to hungry children in Milwaukee County since 1990. The Brewers have been long time partners of the program.
