The Salvation Army, Milwaukee Brewers Team Up to Kickoff Feed The Kids Summer Meals Program
In 2022, The Salvation Army served 65,000 meals through the program
MILWAUKEE - The Salvation Army and the Milwaukee Brewers are teaming up to host the annual Feed The Kids Kickoff at noon on Monday, June 19 at the Tailgate Haus at American Family Field, 1 Brewers Way.
At the kickoff, volunteers will prepare 800 sack lunches for children living in Milwaukee’s underserved neighborhoods.
After the kickoff (June 20-August 25), volunteers will prepare about 1,200 lunches per day. The lunches, which contain a sandwich, cheese stick, snack, apples or carrots, dessert and bottled water, will then be distributed to children in 21 different neighborhoods (3 routes) on Milwaukee's north and south sides.
The Feed The Kids program has provided more than 2.7 million meals to hungry children in Milwaukee County since 1990. The Brewers have been long time partners of the program.
