The Salvation Army Presents: A Long Way Off
Musical is free and open to the public
MILWAUKEE COUNTY - A new musical, sponsored by The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, is coming to Milwaukee!
A Long Way Off, which features more than a dozen original songs performed by a cast of Salvation Army creative artists from seven Midwestern states, will premiere at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 7 at the Miller High Life Theatre (formerly the Milwaukee Theatre), 500 W Kilbourn Ave.
"Musicals are not something usually associated with The Salvation Army, but this musical is something special and has themes that need to be discussed here in Milwaukee," said Major Steve Merritt, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan. "The musical is a contemporary retelling of the Biblical story of the prodigal son. While 2,000 years old, it deals with issues that are familiar to all of us in 2018 - including greed, separation, family dynamics, love, and forgiveness."
The show is free and open to the public, but guests must register online at: https://salar.my/NMtgVn
"I am confident you will enjoy this musical," Merritt said.

About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. The Salvation Army tracks the level of need across the country with the Human Needs Index (Human NeedsIndex.org). Locally, 87 cents of every dollar raised is used to support programs and services in Milwaukee County.
