The Salvation Army Recognizes Volunteers At Annual Appreciation Luncheon
MILWAUKEE -- Over 6,000 volunteers served on behalf of The Salvation Army in Milwaukee County in 2017. On Thursday, April 19, we recognized 20 of those groups and individuals for helping us in "Doing The Most Good" in Milwaukee at our annual volunteer appreication luncheon.
The lunch and ceremony, held at the Italian Community Center, was free to those who volunteered in Milwaukee County during 2017. There were over 300 volunteers in attendence.
The biggest volunteer event is still Christmas Family Feast, which is the largest feeding program in the country on Christmas Day. Over 1,000 volunteers helped on Christmas day to serve over 8,000 people. Another 1,500 helped prepare for that day from December 22-24.
