The Salvation Army To Co-Host Block Party, Basketball Tournament
MILWAUKEE COUNTY – The Salvation Army West Corps Worship & Community Center, along with several other local organizations, is hosting a block party and community picnic in June.
The block party/picnic will feature a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, court art, arts and crafts, a bouncy house, face painting, music, community resources, a Survive Alive House and free food.
"Our goal is to build a genuine sense of community and peace," said Captain Jean Thammavongsa. "We want people to get out of their homes and feel safe and welcomed in this neighborhood. Come on over and let's get to know one another."

-Starts at The Salvation Army West Corps Worship & Community Center, 1645 N 25th St., Milwaukee and will eventually move to Tiefenthaler Park, 2501 W. Galena St., Milwaukee

-Winners will earn gift certificates to local stores and shoes from JaCarries Kicks for Kids. To register for the tournament, contact Derrick Shoates at derrick@safesound.org. Teams must consist of one adult and two kids.
