A record 331 nominations were submitted
MILWAUKEE — Three local leaders, who have had an influential impact on The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County, are winners of the Milwaukee Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 Awards for 2018.
Each year, Business Journal reporters and editors select 40 leaders under the age of 40 who have "demonstrated outstanding professional achievement while also becoming leaders in their communities." Melinda Davenport, Joe'Mar Hooper and Brandon Tschacher were nominated in 2017 and selected from a record 331 submissions.
Davenport, who is also an anchor at WISN 12 News, was the chair of The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County's first Red Kettle on the Red Carpet Gala in 2017. Proceeds from the event - $118,000 - were donated to The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County. Hooper is the inaugural Wisconsin Market Leader for CommonBond Communities, a provider of affordable housing. Tschacher, who is also the Director of Marketing at Thrivent Financial, is the co-president of Echelon Milwaukee, a young professionals group that supports The Salvation Army of Milwaukee County through various networking activities, fundraising events and volunteer opportunities.
Davenport, Hooper and Tschacher, along with the 37 other winners, will be honored at an awards event on Feb. 26 at The Pfister Hotel.
