Toy Shop Volunteer Information

Can I volunteer to help with registration?
 
No. We will not be using volunteers this year to assist with registration. All applications will be processed by Salvation Army staff.
 
How can I volunteer for Toy Shop?
 
Individuals or groups may register to volunteer on-line at www.samilwaukee.org. Just click on the volunteer section of the web site.
 
If you do not have access to a computer, you can contact The Salvation Army Volunteer Coordinator regarding Toy Shop volunteer opportunities. Please call the Volunteer Coordinator 414-302-4300, extension 2163.
 
What can I do as a volunteer?
 
The Toy Shop has many volunteer opportunities:
  • Volunteers donate toys
  • Sort toys by age and gender
  • Box toys
 
During distribution days:
  • Locate pre-boxed family toys by ID number and deliver to clients
  • Sort toys
  • Clean up and help ready the Toy Shop for the next day
  • Help with various aspects of the Toy Distribution, as needed
 
When do you need volunteers?
 
All volunteers must sign up on-line or through the Volunteer Department as outlined above.

12/14/23, 12/15/23, 12/18/23 Volunteer Shifts:  Thurs. Fri & Monday 8:30 – 12:00; 11:30 – 3:30; 3:00 – 6:30 p.m.

12/20/22 Snow Day – Make-Up; if needed. Same schedule as above

Can individuals under the age of 18 volunteer?
 
No. Volunteers must be 18 years or older to volunteer for the Toy Shop program.
 
If I volunteer at the Toy Shop, can I receive toys?
 
No. If you have applied to receive toys, you cannot volunteer at the Toy Shop. Individuals receiving goods or services from a Salvation Army program cannot volunteer in that same program.  If you volunteer for Toy Shop, you will not be eligible to receive toys. If you are interested in volunteering for other Salvation Army programs, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at 414-302-4300, extension 2163.
