Help for the Hungry

Through our food pantry and hot lunch program, we provide assistance to anyone in need.

Where Will You Get Your Next Meal?

Not everyone can answer that question. More than 11 percent of people in Davison County are struggling with food insecurity, meaning they might not know how they will get their next meal.

In addition, recent research shows that 40 percent of South Dakotans who are food insecure are not eligible for federal nutrition assistance, which means they need charitable food programs more than ever.

Hunger Goes Beyond the Numbers

Statistics tell only part of the story. While the devastating impact of hunger isn't always obvious at first glance, the fact is there are men, women and children right here in our community who are hungry and food insecure.

How We Help Fight Hunger and Food Insecurity

Hot Lunch Program  |  Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
We provide a hot, nutritious lunch to between 20 and 50 people each weekday all year long, ensuring they not only get the sustenance they need but also experience a warm, welcoming environment where they can enjoy community and connection with others.

Food Pantry  |  Monday through Thursday from 1:30 - 4:30 p.m.
Our food pantry provides valuable meal supplementation for individuals and families who struggle to stretch the grocery budget far enough to overcome food insecurity and feed themselves and their families. Those in need are eligible to visit the food pantry every 30 days.

Christmas Food Baskets
The holidays can put an extra financial strain on individuals and families. That's why we offer the opportunity for anyone in need to sign up to receive a Christmas food basket.
