"Hungry" is no way to spend childhood

Every day The Salvation Army helps cure hunger by providing nutritious meals to neighbors in need.

around 1,000 people receive food from us every single month.

Our food pantries make sure to give 2-3 days of food each visit.  Food distributed includes: canned vegetables, canned fruits, soups, pasta, cereal, frozen meats, and bread (when available). Special dietary needs are taken into consideration.

There are genuinely sufficient resources in the world to ensure that no one, nowhere, at no time, should go hungry.

How we help cure hunger

Food Pantry
Families and individuals can come to us once a month to receive groceries including fresh produce, canned goods, meat, and dairy (as available).  Call us at 812-944-1018 to make an appointment for pick up.  Pick up times depend on your county and will be assigned when you call.

Animal Food Assistance
Many people find companionship in a dog or a cat yet struggle to care for and feed them.  We can supply dog or cat food as part of our regular food pantry.

Thanksgiving Meal
Served at our building on Thanksgiving Day, everyone is invited to celebrate Thanksgiving with us.  11 AM - 1 PM.
