LIVE from Woodfield Mall December 7th: WBBM Good Neighbor Radiothon
This year’s annual WBBM Good Neighbor Radiothon benefiting The Salvation Army's Bed & Bread Club will be Friday, December 7th, from 5 a.m. - 11 p.m.
WBBM will broadcast LIVE from Woodfield Mall with volunteers from WBBM Newsradio 780AM, The Salvation Army and several Chicagoland companies answering your phone calls. All proceeds benefit The Salvation Army’s Bed & Bread Club, which supports programs that provide shelter and combat hunger. We’ll have fun activities for kids, a photo booth by Alfresco Photo Studio, and a special appearance from journalist, broadcaster and WBBM 780’s morning anchor, Pat Cassidy. There will be special incentives and guest speakers throughout the day!
On any given night in Chicago, nearly 6,000 men, women and children are homeless. Every day, thousands come to The Salvation Army throughout Chicagoland looking for food, shelter and other basic necessities that, for one reason or another, they no longer can access.
Need is greatest during the winter months. Thousands seek refuge from the chilling cold, and many families want nothing more than a nourishing holiday meal together. Your donation of $20 a month will provide nutritious meals, a warm bed, and the hope a family going through crisis needs to carry on. Thanks to our generous donors, we've serve more than 3,800 meals to people each day and provide shelter for about 1,200 people each night.
