10 Ways You Can Support The Salvation Army Serving Shiawassee County

Monetary Donations:

The greatest need to support all of our programs are monetary donations. The more funding we receive, the more people we can help in their times of need. Learn about more ways to give, click here.

Personal Hygiene/Household Products:

We host a personal hygiene pantry that includes items like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hand soap, dishwashing soap, laundry detergent, combs, hairbrushes, deodorant, diapers, cleaning supplies, and other personal hygiene and household items needed by families and individuals.  Feel free to stop by and donate these items, please make sure they are new.

Coats for Kids/Adults:

Particularly during the months of September, October, November, and December we are in need of donations of new coats for adults and children, as well as winter hats, gloves, scarves, socks, snow pants, and other winter supplies.

Christmas Toys for Children:

Particularly during November and December we are in need of new Christmas toys for boys and girls in the following age groups: 0-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12, and 13-17. The toys should be new and unwrapped. We can also use money donated to purchase toys as well.

Non-Perishable Food Items:

Throughout the year we can always distribute non-perishable food items to those in need. Please make sure the items are not expired and have been stored in proper conditions.

Cleaning Supplies:

We can always make use of cleaning supplies to help keep our facility clean and safe for those who visit. We are always in need of multi-purpose spray, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, kleenex, and toilet paper.

Pray for Us:

Prayer is very powerful and God answers prayer in our day and age. Please pray for us, and the ministry work we do. Pray for our staff. Pray for those who access our social services. Pray for our ministries to grow to the community. Pray for God to work mightily through us. Please keep us on your prayer list.

Volunteer your Time:

One of the ways you can help is by volunteering your time. We need volunteers to help with meals throughout the week.  We also need seasonal volunteers to help bell ring during Christmas, as well as volunteers to help with the Christmas toy shop and other special events. For more information on volunteering at 989-725-7485 ext 5110.

Thank you for your generosity

Without you we wouldn't be able to help so many people in so much need
