Basic social services. Goal-centered empowerment. Life enrichment classes for all ages.
People like you find belonging at The Salvation Army Pontiac.
The Salvation Army is more than a Thrift Store or Aide Organization. We are people committed to serve community needs and love others in Jesus' name. The Pontiac location serves Northern Oakland County Michigan.
We provide basic social services, goal-centered case management, youth enrichment classes, and fitness opportunities for seniors and young people. Our programs are for youth, families, seniors and singles and include sports, arts, music, field trips and Character Building experiences. We provide meaningful involvement, physical and spiritual nourishment and life-enriching experiences for all ages.
Our services are provided by a fantastic team of staff, volunteers, board members and congregations members.
Captains John and Judith Fetzer
John and Judith have been leading the Pontiac location since June 2015. John hails originally from Illinois, with a background in carpentry and green construction. He is a lifelong Bears and Cubs fan, and enjoys friendly sports banter here in Michigan. Judith is a homeschool teacher for the four Fetzer children, likes to travel and appreciates the written word. She calls herself an "Advocate for the Underspoken" and makes sure there is a chair for everyone around the table. Together the Fetzers work to make the resources of The Salvation Army and the transformational love of Jesus Christ accessible to more residents of Pontiac and the surrounding communities.
